Practice Descriptions

Here are the Practice Guidelines for 2024:

  • Swimmers should follow parental guidance regarding when to wear masks at the pool generally, as there are no restrictions in place from any other source.

Pre-Team

New! Pre-Team is split into two sessions - choose your time when you register!!!! See Pre-Team tab for eligibility and registration information.

Daily Practice

Warm-Ups - Each practice group will be given a warm-up set at the beginning of the season.  Coaches will ask the swimmers to swim the same warm-up set at the beginning of each practice and before each meet.  Parents are encouraged to help swimmers learn and remember the warm up set.

Sets - Coaches will develop further practice sets according to the age and ability of the swimmers in each lane.  Swimmers should listen to the coaches instructions and do their very best!

Expectations - Coaches will come to practice ready to coach. Swimmers should come to practice ready to swim. Disruptive swimmers will be asked to sit out of practice, and will need to explain to their parents why they have been asked to sit out.

Friday Clinic

The purpose of the Friday Clinic is to practice the little things that swimmers need to be successful in Saturday's A Meets.  Coaches will work in stations where swimmers will practice and refine Starts, Flip Turns, Pull Outs, Backstroke Turns, and most importantly, Finishes.

Expectations - Friday Clinic will be focused instruction to get swimmers ready for the next day's meet.  Swimmer's should come with the mindset that they are ready to work and listen for a short time to make sure they are prepared to race. When Friday Clinic is complete, we'll roll right into the evening's Seahawk Spirit activities.
