Volunteering
Our swim team is nothing without volunteers! If you have a child swimming on the full Swim Team, then at least one member of the family is expected to volunteer weekly during the swim season. Often, both parents will be needed. We have a small team, and volunteering is mandatory to keep our little ship afloat.
Fortunately, we have a large number of highly involved families who agree to keep their roles from season to season. If your primary job from last season is NOT listed below, then you are assumed to have volunteered for that job again. Talk to Gabe directly (and soon) if you need to bow out, otherwise your carry over roles will be (re)assigned to you after registration.
If you do not have a carryover role from last season, consider one of the roles listed here. Some are newly created, and are available for this season. The rest are the traditional non-certified jobs that are needed on a meet by meet basis.
Roles of Highest Need for 2022 -
Head Timer and Assistant Head Timer - So that Val doesn't have to do it every meet! Automation - could use some new blood helping out at the computer. And we need to train a couple of new Officials to help fill the holes left by those whose children have graduated!
You are merely indicating your preference for volunteer roles at registration which allows the Reps to ensure that all roles can be filled during the season. You will continue to sign up to volunteer for your roles on a meet by meet basis. You are selecting a preference for a certain role now, but this will not preclude you from volunteering for a different role for individual meets.
Families with only Pre-Team swimmers (no full Team) should indicate Timer as a preference. You can help out and time at B Meets once your swimmer has started to swim in them.
